I'm the communications director for the Arts Council of Southwestern Indiana, a nonprofit whose goal is to help artists, spur economic development through art, and create free art experiences for the community. I am primarily focused on community event planning — especially live music — as well as communications and donor relations. I also do the majority of the graphic design work for the organization. Events I'm in charge of include On The Roof concert series, Brown Bag concert series, Children's International Film Festival, managing artist vendors for First Fridays at Haynie's Corner, and other events.

ParksFest is a free community music festival at Garvin Park in Evansville, Indiana. Since 2014, ParksFest has provided outdoor music experiences for more than 32,000 people. The event features professional live music, food trucks, beer garden, hands-on kids activities, and more.I am involved with every facet of planning this one-day event, especially financial management, booking acts, day-of logistics, graphic design and marketing, and fundraising.

• Worked as a general assignment news reporter for two community newspapers in Gibson County, Indiana.• Covered public meetings, community events, breaking news and everything in between. • Also shot photos, edited copy and laid out pages.• Designed and developed copy for the Oakland City Journal, a weekly newspaper.
