I'm an advisor, mentor, entrepreneur, and investor who has worked in technology for the past 25 years. I have helped numerous founders, startups, and companies such as Apple, ATI, Delrina, Symantec, Dupont and most recently NXM Labs where I was a co-founder and served as COO. I have been involved at the start of an idea and operated as a founding team member to grow that idea into a leading company with a market capitalization of $1.6 billion on the TSX. During my career I have been involved in more than $2 billion in financings and liquidity events which included three IPOs and several acquisitions. I'm a co-holder of several patents covering blockchain and quantum computing applications.

My work also led to a strategic investment by Intel and the launch of the world’s first online photo sharing service with Kodak and Intel. The Intel relationship also allowed me, as product manager, to launch the world's first software-based personal video recorder for television. MGI competed successfully with Microsoft and Adobe in OEM and retail channels as the world’s leading supplier of consumer digital imaging and video editing software until its sale to US-based Roxio.

    The main founder and I met when I directed the Ontario Software Development Association; he was on my Board. Together we wrote the first prospectus which led to a $10 million public financing of Delrina. I then joined the company as staffer number twelve to manage corporate, product and investor communications. The company diversified from enterprise data management to communications and eventually consumer software through its acquisition of Amaze Inc. using direct, OEM and retail channels. I built a communications team and strategy to support multiple market segments as well the company’s listings on the TSX and NASDAQ. Delrina’s marketing almost entirely relied on non-paid methods managed by my team. My product and news campaigns achieved worldwide notoriety with coverage in Time, Wired, The Economist, CNN, NBC, CBC, BBC, LA Times, New York Times, San Jose Mercury News, London Times, Newsweek, BusinessWeek, Forbes, Wall Street Journal, and numerous other publications. Delrina became the world’s leading supplier of electronic forms and PC-faxing software with sales of $135 million and 700 staff until its sale to US-based Symantec for $550 million. I continued as a senior consultant with Symantec leading product communications and provided executive suite corporate communications counsel.

    The OSDA was the first non-profit group of its kind focused on the growth of the personal software industry in Canada. I recruited Board members representing some of the leading software and IT companies in Ontario and became the organization's executive director. In response to software entrepreneurs' needs I developed educational programs to address marketing, financing, management and legal matters. Initiatives were also undertaken by the organization to encourage government to provide funding to support innovative software product development in the province. This effort, in part, culminated in the Ontario Government announcing a $1 billion Technology Fund to meet high tech goals. OSDA merged with the Information Technology Association of Canada (ITAC) upon my departure.
