About Jérôme Griffon

Medical imaging is a fascinating field for me. It has been the core of my PhD in "Medical Computer Science - Biomedical Imaging" and of my engineer and research Master degrees at Telecom Bretagne. That is the reason why I would like to work in a R&D department of a MedTech company specialized in medical imaging with strong links with the hospital environment.Have a look to my Researchgate page --> www.researchgate.net/profile/Jerome_Griffon

During my PhD at the Laboratoire d’Imagerie Biomédicale (Biomedical Imaging Laboratory) supervised by Lori Bridal, I took part in the research project of studying the benefits of ultrasound imaging for the characterization of tumor heterogeneity and during therapeutic follow-up.The main activities I carried out were:- The design of experiments, and then the acquisition and the processing of the data. The data processing has been done using signal and image processing tools that I implemented with Matlab.- I learned the theory and the practical use of ultrasound imaging technics with the help of previous PhD candidates of the lab and the reading of scientific papers.- I worked in an international multidisciplinary environment. This helped me to open new research perspectives and to find expertise outside from the lab to make the project progress. I interacted with oncologists, radiologists and biologists, French and international researchers, and also technicians and engineers working at imaging platforms.- I actively participated in the development of the biological samples analysis project in the lab by the organization and leading of meetings with external labs.- I co-supervised two internship students who helped me to make progress on my project. One was working on the biological samples analysis project and the other on the modeling of tumor growth project.- My work has been presented at 6 international conferences (IUS-IEEE and AACR).My work helped the lab to make progress on the challenge of comparing ultrasound data to biological data, but also helped to bring new perspectives of research on the combined use of all the acquired data. My dedication, perseverance and curiosity were strong advantages to be able to carry out my research work.
