A headline for my roles in Amminex is understanding the complete system; interactions between the actual components, and interactions with production, quality and market. Always utilizing the understandings for continuous improvements. Another headline is putting the product and its development into a systematic and well documented framework, including the people organization around it.Amminex developed an ammonia storage and delivery system (ASDS) used in diesel engine exhaust cleaning (deNOx). The system is chemistry based, using the adsorption of ammonia on salt. To make the chemistry work practically it is contained in mechanical parts for heat and pressure control and a mechatronic dosing unit for accurate dosing. With in/output from sensors and actuators on the system and on vehicles, software is controlling it all. Thus, it is a complex system encompassing many engineering disciplines. In the course of my employment, we took the idea from a university lab-style thing to a marketable product. Amminex grew to 70 persons, shrinked to 20, then again grew to 70 and back to 20. Due to a difficult automotive market situation the owner chose to end further development.

Responsibilities:- Overall system development; coordination of sub-components product development into a complete system- Idea generation and exploration of alternative system architectures - System and sub-component requirement definitions and management- Safety analyses - 8d root cause analyzes- Execute vehicle and laboratory tests and validation programs

Design of equipment and test plants for research; defining requirements, flow charts, PID's, dimensioning and designing components, safety and instrumentation and commissioning.

Head of staff and development of laboratories and design of test and research equipment

Team lead for 3-5 engineers and technicians running and developing extensive pilot and lab scale facilities including safety responsibility.Design and commission of test setups in lab and pilot scale.Instruction and support for students.Development and design of test equipment for utility boiler measurements.Planning, performing and reporting test programs on power utility boilers.
