As a dedicated research professor with a passion for (geo)environmental innovation, I focus on sustainable resource management and the intersection of social and environmental impact. With over 30 years of experience in academia and 10 years of experience in editorial work, I am committed to advancing knowledge in sustainability and fostering interdisciplinary collaboration.I am a Full Professor and Research Chair of the Climate and Sustainability Core at the School of Engineering and Sciences at Tecnológico de Monterrey, Mexico. I hold a PhD in Hydrogeology from the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences (Universität für Bodenkultur Wien) in Vienna, Austria, with a background in Environmental Engineering.Throughout my career, I have focused on research, teaching, and consultancy. My research interests include isotope hydrology, hydrogeochemistry, groundwater contamination and mitigation, sustainable water resource management, environmental engineering, and climate change adaptation in water systems. My research team has made significant contributions to source identification and modeling of groundwater contaminants, earning several prestigious awards, including the Dr. Karl Schleinzer Prize (Austria) and the Rómulo Garza Prize in two categories (Mexico).I am honored to be listed in the Stanford/Elsevier Top 2% Scientists List, and member of the Mexican National Researcher System (Level 3). Happy to serve as Editor-in-Chief for Groundwater for Sustainable Development (GSD), Associate Editor for Science of the Total Environment (STOTEN), and as a member of the Editorial Board for Environmental Pollution. I have been recognized as a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry (FRSC) and as a Member of the Mexican Academy of Sciences (AMC).As an instructor for the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), I have conducted several national training courses on isotope hydrology. Beside my work as research professor, I serve as President of the Mexican Chapter of the International Association of Hydrogeologists (2023-2027).
