As a writer with 30 years' experience in PR and marketing, most recently I worked on a political issues campaign in the East Bay area of San Francisco. Over the past few years I have developed book projects and travel articles in the Caribbean, completing "The Adventure Guide to the Leeward Islands" for Hunter Publishing in 2008. In addition I wrote the Antigua, Saba and St. Eustatius chapters to the Eyewitness Travel Guide to the Caribbean, published by Dorling Kindersley Ltd, London, in 2009, and then updated the hotel and restaurant listings in that book for 11 of the Caribbean destinations in 2013.

I was involved in new sales and visiting past and present clients to keep our company fresh in their minds so we can be sure of continually receiving updated content. I have also been involved in content creation and management for the 600+ clients who advertise on the site, as well as creating social media posts and advising on marketing of the company.

Served as editor/writer for special publications such as Enjoy!, the magazine for visitors, the Hurricane Supplement and others. Also spearheaded efforts to redesign the Daily Observer and re-brand the entire company with new logos and positioning. Acted as back-up sub-editor for the newspaper and media producer for the website. Supported the sales team with production of sales materials and ideas for new campaigns.

Served as overall coordinator of this annual literary festival that brought noted North American, British and Caribbean authors to the island for 3 days of workshops and events.

Handled all marketing, advertising and PR functions for this corporate transportation and luxury limousine company, one of the largest in the San Francisco Bay area.

Served as editor for eight monthly special sections appearing in the San Ramon Valley Times, as well as contributing features and assistance on production of sections for the Contra Costa Times. Duties included conceptualization and writing of news and feature articles; managing freelance writers and photographers;and laying out the pages including articles, photos and advertising for final printing through the automated system (pagination). Many publications were sponsored by organizations, so I had to act as liaison with these groups, including chambers of commerce, shopping center management and PR firms.
