As a Police Officer (Desk Sergeant), you will be responsible for the following duties:Initial point of contact for all persons, activities, visitors and complainants regarding any activity that requires police action.Receives, interprets, evaluates, and immediately decides as to what action is appropriate and implements course of action; including dispatching support personnel.Contacts tenants through a Mass Notification System (MNS) and sends alerts in an emergency situation.Instruct caller on how to perform life-saving procedures in an emergency situation over the phone.Maintains records; prepares journals, blotters, reports; reviews police reports for clarity, legibility and accuracy.

As a Security Guard, you will conduct physical security functions to include:Conduct foot patrol of the perimeter and interior of facility structures.Conduct vehicle searches/inspections (to include, cargo areas, engine compartments and under carriages), in accordance with standing operating procedures.Protect personnel, visitors, critical components, and systems of a research facility from all threats.

Diplomatic Security uniformed guards ensure the safety and security of State Department personnel, property, and information by screening visitors and packages. DS’s uniformed security officers provide security at facilities throughout the United States, including Department of State headquarters, departmental satellite offices, and 22 Passport Offices in 19 states and the District of Columbia.These officers also provide security support for special events, such as VIP visits, domestic and international classified and unclassified conferences, and special events at Department of State headquarters in Washington.
