    ETRS stands for: Electronic Transmission Range Selection. It is a safety critical feature that interacts with multiple ECU’s in many different vehicle architectures. Robustness is a central requirement to ensure that ETRS provides safe operations without losing the long-proven reliability of the mechanical PRNDL designs. My role is to support GM's initial ETRS products, roll out ETRS to all of the new product lines in MY18 & MY19, and define the strategy for future ETRS technologies. GM has not experienced any of the ETRS safety issues that have disrupted other OEM’s products. This will not change as new architectures are introduced.
