Role involves: • Conducting Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) analysis during the pre-design phase of projects using industry-standard tools.• Predicting aerodynamic performance utilizing standard methodologies defined by Aerodynamics/CFD leadership.• Collaborating across disciplines with other team members to provide timely reports for project requests.• Participating in R&D projects and work packages on advanced projects.

The role involves research activities related to Active Load Reduction through Fluidic actuation means, supervising Bachelor and Master thesis research projects, and aiding with day-to-day institute administrative tasks. Activities involve:• Literature survey of topics related to active load reduction.• Designing and producing clean two and three-dimensional geometries of selected active load reduction methods.• Preparing structured and hybrid element grids using industry recognized software packages.• Scripting and conducting simulations using the Unstructured CFD solver DLR-TAU.• Post processing generated data, producing reports and publishing finalized results in world-renowned conferences and journals in the aviation field.• Collaborating with other members of the cluster to conduct cross-project, interdisciplinary research and co-author publications.
