Manage cross-functional infrastructure projects in a matrix organization covering a range of areas (data center, network, hardware systems, capacity management, tooling and automation)2. Interface with Engineering and business owners for project requirements and scope.In practice, the role and responsibilities are a bit more robust. Facebook maintains a fast pace environment that requires a person to shift gears rapidly. In order to pull this off effectively, you need a significant amount of technical knowledge as well as historical knowledge. A lot of folks like to use the analogy of a "juggling act" when referring to a PM role, but that's too sequenced. The role is really all about kicking off and maintaining momentum on multiple parallel pursuits.
