I am on the last steps of completing my multiple subject California teaching credential. I am currently working at an elementary after school program in a low income community where I have the privilege of coaching different sports for different grade levels from kindergarten to sixth grade. I am also involved in the art classes where I was in charge of bringing new material and ideas to the classroom. I want to help work towards education equity and inspire children to succeed academically. I am also a certificated substitute teacher for Palm Springs Unified School District where I have the opportunity to take hands on positions in the classroom. Throughout my 18 week student teaching placement I gained valuable knowledge and became an expert at using Zoom, SeeSaw, Google Classroom, and other online resources that students use via distance learning. I have taken several courses at UCLA that have shaped my path to conduct research as to why there is an education gap in the United States, and how can we help those students that are struggling. During my credential program I have learned effective classroom management skills, differential teaching strategies, and how to create an inclusive classroom environment.
