Acted as the mechanical engineering lead for our CubeSat avionics, taking responsibility for the assemblies and their implementation into BCT’s various CubeSat programs. Work consisted of design work, configuration management, schedule management, cross disciplinary coordination with other teams, and updating stakeholders on status. Distilled a pool of custom offerings into a group of standard products that would cover program needs across the organization, while decreasing lead time and effort due to one-off designs and documentation. Employed standard processes to bring avionics in line with best practices in traceability and design.

Worked as optomechanical and mechanisms design engineer in a rapid prototyping research and development environment, before transitioning into a production support and mechanical design role in the low-observables antenna group. Assisted in requirements derivation for subsystems and tracked controlling documentation for multiple subsystem efforts. Designed compliant mechanisms and flexures for use in tight-tolerance pointing-and-tracking systems. Worked on an interdisciplinary team to develop non-conventional imaging systems for the warfighter. Performed detailed design work and drawing documentation towards the completion of multiple programs. Took primary responsibility for a missile subsystem redesign for manufacturability, generating weekly design, and technical & schedule updates for stakeholders. Managed subsystem labor and parts budgets as part of multiple program efforts. Took part in requirements derivation and concept definition for a rapid prototype effort in the antennas group. Acted as mechanical and project lead of an interdisciplinary team of 5 engineers in concept development, design, and successful prototyping of a complex imaging sensor in partnership with the University of Arizona.

Assisted in the manufacturing process where needed. Facilitated the design, development and manufacture of test fixtures for actuators, and managed associated controlling documentation.
