As a Non-executive Director I fulfil my duties and responsibilities as a member of the SRUC Board and SAC Commercial Board. SRUC was formed two years ago after the merger of four regional colleges, and delivers integrated research, education and consultancy to the land-based sector, with a staff of 1500. I was appointed to the SRUC HR Strategy Group post merger which provided strategic oversight to the change programme.

As a non-executive member of the Moredun Foundation Board I am involved in discussions on strategy, financial and business performance, audit, risk and health and safety, positioning Moredun to maintain its international reputation and recognition for its contribution to research into infectious diseases of farmed livestock.

The AWF's mission is to improve the welfare of animals through veterinary science, education and debate.Trustees are responsible for strategic direction, defining goals, evaluating performance and ensuring resources are used exclusively in pursuance of the AWF mission.

I was appointed to oversee the change programme in the Justice Policy Group (450 FTE) and led a team providing quality corporate services to JPG. I was a member of the Finance Management Committee and Justice Policy Group Management Board, reviewing and monitoring people and financial performance, strategic direction and risks.I led the Government's interest in the Global Law Summit (an international three day Summit in Feb 2015), setting up a cross - government network with representatives from across Whitehall to establish Departmental priorities for the Summit, to develop the programme.I gained recognition as a Change Management Registered Practitioner.

During an eight month loan I worked with Permanent Secretaries across Whitehall to develop the themes of the Civil Service Reform Plan, publishing it in June 2012.

I was Principal Private Secretary to three Secretaries of State for Scotland and managed the Private Office team through a period of change after the formation of the Coalition Government in 2010. I managed teams in Edinburgh and London and set up a cross-government network for Principal Private Secretaries.

BCVA offers advice to the industry on cattle health and welfare issues, endemic and exotic disease. I participated in Council discussions to develop BCVA policy and responded to government consultations.I was a member of the Education and Welfare Committees.
