Software Innovation/Tieto

TietoEVRY Corporation is a Finnish IT software and service company that provides IT and product engineering services. I was a Senior Project Manager at Software Innovation, a Tieto subisidiary that develops and delivers standardized Enterprise Content Management applications to government and companies in the private sector.During my time there, I was responsible for some of Software Innovation’s most ambitious projects in Denmark. For instance, I was in charge of creating a state of the art Information Management System for the Danish Parliament. We used Scrum as the development methodology and closely collaborated with our government counterparts. This project was especially rewarding for me because I really enjoy working on agile projects in which the client is actively involved. In addition to bringing everyone to the table, I was responsible for assessing client needs and facilitating communication between our sales teams and project managers.

Lector provides IT solutions for knowledge management, information, and workflows. Working for Lector at the beginning of its expansion into information management systems provided me the opportunity to develop my skills as a project manager, business consultant, and salesperson. In my combined role, I was able to gain a comprehensive understanding of the complexity and challenges of developing, selling, and implementing new information management products.

Scanjour specializes in Case and Document Management and was one of the leading companies in Denmark in the field of Enterprise Content Management. Scanjour is now owned by KMD. This was my first job in the IT industry, and I realized early on that I had found my true calling. After one year as a trainer, I was promoted to project manager and business consultant. Over the next six years, I learned a great deal about project management. Fortunately, I excelled in my position and went from managing small projects to overseeing very large and complex projects.

After graduating from university, I taught chemistry, biology, information technology, and programming at the high school level. It was an invaluable experience, and in addition to the joy of helping young people become more confident learners, my seven years of teaching helped me hone my skills as a communicator. My experience as an educator has informed my approach to management throughout my career, both as a project manager and a salesperson.
