Devops Architect

Oslo, No

DevOps Architect responsible for establishing and maintaining the CI/CD DevOps plattform and related toolstack within the organization as part of a DevOps team. My responisbilities regarding this comprise of:- technical and strategic advisory regarding plattform and tool choices around establishing a future proof CI/CD plattform and all related tools including both legacy, on-prem-cloud and public cloud plattforms.- aquisition, implementation and maintenance of the toolstack related to the above and participating in the ongoing automation and cloud project where examples of the tools and technology involved are: GitHub for Government, the Atlassian suite of products: Jira, Bitbucket and Confluence, JFrog Artifactory and Slack- Working closely with the devops team responsible for developing an on prem cloud plattform based on OpenShift and Kybernetes- Making sure that all tools both on-prem and in the cloud are integrated with the internal IDM plattform and supporting single-sign-on- Security and privacy related to the DevOps toolstackIt has been really exciting, and also quite a challange to be part of this big transformation process, since we are talking about a government organisation with around 10000 employees. Lots of coaching has been involved in transitioning numerous team to becoming truly agile, and it has thought me a lot about working with big government organizations.I had a quite clear idea from the start about where I would like to take the organization regarding devops, continous delivery and working agile, and I have worked step-by-step against this goal. It is really pleasing to have been part of the transformation where the organization has gone from being quite "old fashioned" in regards to devops maturity, to becoming a really state of the art development fabric with continous delivery pipelines in place to deliver software fast both on-prem on virtualized servers spanning several datacenters as well as to the cloud.

Was part of the management team in MKT AS, which later was renamed to Gurusoft AS. Already at that time, we worked with plans for becoming a major player within E-commerce. I worked closely with CEO, Helge Krossøy, and the CMO, Trygve Larsen, where I had the the responsibility together with them to build a strong partner network and training the partners in our product suite consisting of a Portal / CMS solution with built in CRM capabilities including planning and time reporting together with OfficeNet AS, now Visena AS. One of our partners was Telenor Djuice. Djuice.hu (Pannon in Budapest) & Djuice.se (Telenor and Aftonbladet), where two portals based on the OfficeNet & MobileAware Multi Channel Portal bundle. At the time Smart phones and operating systems like iOS and Android didn’t exist and we where among the first to deliver experiences on mobile phones using wap technology with integrated billing and functionality to recognize a phone device type and offer content that adapted directly to that particular device.Another cool project I participated in was E4U (www.e4u.no): A student portal that contains a large database of education related content and where the student can fill in an online CV and send applications to universities. One of my responsibilites was integration with partners such as MSN and utdanning.no, which both uses content from E4U. Also implemented interfaces to schools and integration with a third party webbased competence management system.I was responsible for the MKT Trippelnet solution and as the the technical presale resource I set up several intranet/ extranet/ web portals together with partners such as Antares who where later acquired by Acando and now part of CGI.

Managing Director

I was one of 5 founders of OfficeNet AS, now Visena AS. The product company OfficeNet’s vision was to create a combined Portal and CMS with built in CRM, project management and time reporting functionality. We experienced that portal solutions such as BEA Portal and market leading CMS solutions was really expensive both to buy and set up. We therefore created a new portal suite where internet, extranet and intranet could be set up in a couple of days with smart linked content, agents that trawled the internet and collected news from the web etc. together with our partner Autonomy. We acquired all developers as well as HW/SW and licenses from Nettet.no, a company similar vision to Cyberwatcher, InfoFinder and Meltwater. Nettet.no failed in funding further operations during the dot com crisis and we where able to buy it quite cheap.I got to know eScience the predecessor to Acando / CGI and some of the people who are now my colleagues in CGI. We had a really cool project for Telenor and were their Portal / CMS partner for a while. We hosted parts of Djuice.com and worked together with Telenor Mobile to develop our product, and delivered wap portals to Djuice in both Sweden and Hungary.Besides being the CEO, I also participated in projects as a developer & architect and helped Telenor Mobile /– DJuice with implementing a continuous integration framework and single sign on solution between several websites, mailservices and SMS alerts.Another cool project I was involved in was review and optimization of the fringe benefit solution for employees, which was built on BEA Portal, on behalf of Telenor (TellUs), the hosting partner. The portal had serious performance issues and we helped BEA to find and fix some problems in their portal product which caused the performance problems. The performance / optimization report that I prepared was presented to the supplier Bouvet, and I guess this was the first meeting with the company that later become my employer for 9 years.
