Background:In rapidly urbanizing Mumbai, security is compromised consistently. Thus, I wanted to safeguard my residential community in a modern way.Proposed Solution:Enter Project SAFE. Working alongside my mentor, we planned to execute an Access Control System. The goal was to establish an electronic lock at every entry point (from staircases to lobby lifts) and assign customized access privileges to different members through proximity cards or their mobiles. This would help us monitor and control movements within the complex.Execution:After successfully pitching the concept to all residents, we got the go-ahead. With due diligence, we found the right vendors that provided us the best equipment within our budgets. With research and crafty thinking, we were able to maintain our deadlines despite our labor and HID-signal setup problems.Finally, we used a phased-changeover approach to allow individuals to acclimate.The success of this project is evident in the fact that not only has theft in the community ceased, but also the elderly residents along with the female workers in and around the community feel safer.

I got an opportunity to intern at Thirdware Global Services (TGS). Here I realized that CS consisted of a higher degree of imagination and creativity compared to any other field. I spent my summer working in the marketing department, learning about the company's software solutions – from simple programs that kept track of transactions to complex programs that managed the entire organization's possibilities.At the end of my internship, I had developed a website that would serve data entry in regards to campaigns and automatically analyze and sort them according to the pre-set tiers.
