Roles and Responsibilities•Process Monitoring and Control: Regularly monitor various stages of the copper processing plant, including crushing, grinding, flotation and bagging. Adjust process parameters as needed to ensure efficient operations and desired product quality•Quality Assurance: Analyse samples of copper ore, concentrate, and final products to ensure they meet quality specifications. Implement corrective actions if quality deviations are identified•Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve operational issues and process inefficiencies that may arise during production. Diagnose problems in equipment processes and implement solutions•Data Analysis and Reporting: Analyze process data, compile reports, and present findings to senior staff. Use data to identify trends, propose improvements, and justify operational changes•Documentation: Maintain accurate records of process parameters, test results, and equipment maintenance. Properly document changes made to processes and their outcomes•Assist process operations team in monitoring and optimizing process plant reagents and consumables

Thisincludes collecting baseline readings, setting targets and working with management todevelop reports and processes.•Assisting with stock control of diesel, lubricants and truck spares includingimplementation of new service records and controls•Supervises Fleet staff and works with the Mechanics to ensure proper repair and maintenance of the company’s fleet. I got to learn the process flow of materials in the mine from the primary crushers to the Dense Medium Separation (DMS).During my industrial attachment, I worked with differrent plant equipment:• Gyratory crushers• High Pressure Roll Crushers (HPRC)• Cyclones• Scrubbers and screens• Magnetic separators• Paste thickeners and Ultra-separators for water treatment facilities with the use of a flocculant.•Worked in the central control room, learning to do the plant start up and shut down, and also doing basic CCR operator duties•The attachment also involved working in a metallurgical laboratory, collecting samples and doing sieve analysis and also moisture content
