Datacenter Technician
Current• Works in a shift pattern to enable 24x7 datacenter operations which includes day to day infrastructure surveillance via regular site rounds, the building management system and the alarm platforms as well as the execution of pre-validated and drilled EOPs.• Performs maintenance as planned via the maintenance planning team.• Oversees contractors performing upgrades, maintenance and installations of assets in the data center.• Manages incidents in close cooperation with the Manager on Duty and the Incident Manager.• Ensures that all work is carried out within a 'safe system' and approved work processes, risk assessment and specified work procedures, complying with best practice standards and legal requirements. • Handles incoming technical customer service requests and follows existing management process.• Performs technical work for customers and projects assigned via work task from other departments • Follows up on SLA and agreed KPIs to achieve outstanding customer satisfaction.• Installs, test and troubleshoots network connections.• Performs required Hands & Eyes, Customer Installation and deinstallation activities within given SLAs.• Is responsible for documenting the progress, status, and results of their work, creating a basis for audit success and positive outcomes to customer enquiries.• Follows Health and Safety policy, including that the appropriate personal protective equipment is worn by all technicians and all external service providers/contractors and visitors on site.• Makes suggestions for improving the quality and effectiveness of the maintenance, interventions and customer services delivered, as well as the quality and energy efficiency (PUE) of the data center.• Ensures overall site appearance and cleanliness; escalate shortfalls where necessary.• Executes other special projects/assignments as directed by the Data Center Technicians Manager.
