CurrentResponsible for shipments from origin, through warehouse distribution to customer’s final destination while reducing company expense and maximizing vendor relationships to source the most cost-effective shipping. • Establish, conduct, and reduce cost through the RFP-vendor bid process for ocean, air and domestic freight• Track, coordinate shipping and oversee customs clearance for approximately 700 ocean containers per year• Build and maintain vendor relationships with ocean and air freight forwarders through regular, consistent communication and price monitoring• Design, maintain, and report monthly metrics for ocean containers including average container cost and transit time by port• Interpret and implement changes to cost and transit time for ocean containers utilizing the monthly metrics and RFP process• Streamline the air quote process by developing a portal for information intake and cost tracking to reduce the company’s cost exposure• Navigate and develop strategies to mitigate blank sailings, port congestion, and rail delays to maintain customer shipping schedules for on-time delivery• Create standard operating procedures and best practices for a warehouse team of six to reduce expenditures through eliminating shipping and inventory errors, while increasing overall team efficiency• Served as Project Manager to facilitate the relocation of a 60,000 to 100,000 square foot warehouse with a closed timeframe of only five days
