I originally graduated from SOSU in 2009 with a Bachelor's in Business Administration with an emphasis in Management. Management was my choice simply because it gave me the greatest variety in classes as I got a taste of maketing, accounting, and finance. While in college, I worked as a retail bank teller. I thoroughly enjoyed my regular customers as well as the problem solving challenges that were involved in day to day banking activities. It was an easy transition to move from a teller line to consumer loans, so that is exactly what I did after graduating. I was able to earn experience in a wide variety of loans as I worked on an acquisitions team where I gained great knowledge in regards to consumer loans and also spent several years as a loan assistant for an officer who dealt both with consumer and commercial loans. I enjoy working with numbers as math has always been something easy for me. In 2013, a lot changed in my personal life and I chose to change my career drastically as I accepted a job as an English teacher at my hometown high school. Over the years I added an English as a Second Language certification and a Family & Consumer Sciences certification. I still taught English classes in addition to Child Development and Interior Design classes as well as serve as an Advisor for our school's Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America chapter and also participated as senior class sponsor. In 2020, we were in a position for me to be able to go back to college and follow a dream I had since high school of being a Registered Nurse. I graduate from Grayson College Associate Degree Nursing program May 2022. Clearly, I enjoy learning, so this career choice will be a good fit for me.
