I started this business out of necessity for my family.Receiving a life-changing diagnosis for your child - no matter when it arrives - changes your trajectory in unimaginable ways. In 2010 my daughter Hudsyn was born with complex medical needs, and so began our search to find answers to the million questions swimming in our minds:- If something happens to me, what will happen to my child? - Am I leveraging everything available to ensure my child is in the best situation possible? - What can MY life look like – will I retire? - What about the dreams I had?After meeting with financial advisors, we realized that they didn't understand the complexity of our family's unique situation and weren't able to provide us with the answers we needed. So, in 2013, I created a wealth management practice devoted to serving Special Needs families. My team and I are different from most firms in that we bring these three professionals to the table to coordinate your family's plan. You and your children receive a holistic plan covering risk management and long-term investment planning. We make sure the right documents are in place, but most importantly, that those documents (like the Special Needs Trust and ABLE accounts) have a detailed funding plan upon your passing or inability to care for your loved one.We believe that proactive and complete Special Needs Planning should:• Be done correctly - the first time and at the right time – so your life can become less reactive, and you can once again plan for your future. • Consider and account for a client's unique needs to result in a high quality of life for everyone in the family. • Include assistance to navigate the complex systems and resources available to provide the best support for you, your child, and your family.We're creating an environment for Autonomy, Inclusion, and Belonging for special needs families nationwide.
