My personal and professional fulfillment comes from facilitating "WOW" moments as people interact with the natural world and discover their own unique place in contributing to a greener more sustainable place. Through my experience as an educator and manager in both formal and nonformal edcation I’m energized by the drive I see in learners to explore and connect their experiences with their future and their goals. Facilitating discovery learning around science and the environment that educate, challenge, and excite others has been the focus of my teaching and learning career. In my leadership positions in formal, informal, and nonformal educational organizations I have applied my expert background to create connections between our service communities, science communities, and other organizations to build relationships around care and understanding of our world. In so doing, I bridge the gaps between communities, non-profit and state organizations, classrooms and curious individuals that demonstrate the value of preserving our marine environments, especially within the South Puget Sound ecosystem.
