Kade Bailey is a voice performance student in the final year of his undergraduate degreeat Memorial University’s School of Music, where he has studied under the direction ofprofessors E. Mark Murphy and Caroline Schiller. Kade has had the opportunity to perform innumerous productions within the school’s Opera Workshop program throughout his four years atMemorial, including The Medium (Mr. Gobineau), A Hand of Bridge (David), scenes from Cosifan tutte (Guglielmo), Un avvertimento ai gelosi (Fabio) and The Merry Wives of Windsor (Mr.Ford), as well as having toured the province with Opera RoadShow, a professional touringcompany focused on the exposure of opera to elementary school students in rural areas ofNewfoundland.Besides his operatic repertoire, Kade has also had the opportunity to perform in a numberof musical theatre productions within the thriving theatre scene in St. John’s. Past productionshave included Guys&Dolls (Rusty Charlie), the debut production of the original Newfoundlandmusical A Call to Arms (James Donnelly), Scrooge (Young Marley), Santa’s Place (Christoff),Footloose (Bickle), and ensemble roles in productions of Billy Elliot, Hairspray and The AddamsFamily.Through the experiences of both classical and musical theatre repertoire, Kade looksforward to hopefully pursuing a master’s degree in Music Theatre next year and a career in themusical theatre/crossover field.
