Led and managed the NSF Significant Opportunities in Atmospheric Research and Science (NSF SOARS) program and affiliated efforts. The NSF SOARS program, based at the University Corporation for Atmospheric Research in Boulder, CO, has been increasing the diversity of the atmospheric and related sciences since 1996. This flagship program is designed to support students from backgrounds historically excluded in the geosciences to enter and succeed in graduate school and STEM careers. Administered the outreach of NCAS education programs, including recruitment, documents, newsletters, website maintenance, community science fests, brochures, and press releases. Managed and supported K-12 programs, external science activities and community science fests – mobile science demonstrations with area secondary schools and HU Upward Bound partnership.Lead and coordinated the national network of high school NCAS CAREERS Weather Camps, summer program.Managed and executes the undergraduate summer internship; experiential, atmospheric sciences, research-based program, matches Interns with professional scientists.Supported undergraduate and graduate students at 12 partner institutions, and at Lead institution, Howard University. NCAS is a cooperative science center, funded through a cooperative science agreement with NOAA. The principal goals are ensuring “the production of high-quality students through high-quality research and collaborative discovery”.

Taught Beginning Spanish, an introductory-level course, focused on grammar, culture, and vocabulary of the Spanish-speaking world, including Latin America and Spain. Average class size of 20 students, four semesters.Taught First Year Seminar, a required course for all incoming undergraduate students, concentrating on comprehension, test, time-management, and life-skills acquisition.

Consultant in partnership with the American Association for the Advancement of Sciences (AAAS), supported program goals regarding the grant, focused on parental inclusion and advocacy.Organized and executed forums for middle and high school parents to increase awareness and participation in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM).

Articulated and implemented the parental and community engagement strategy for The Ed Trust. Revised and disseminated various tools for parental and community organizations, including parental guides for homework, African-American parents, and Latino parents. Organized and engaged parents and community around educational issues, including college and career readiness for all.

Promoted and created awareness of the OSSE, and its programs to District of Columbia residents. Developed and implemented the outreach for the State Superintendent with existing civic community meetings, faith- based organizations, and educational organizations.

Provided technical assistance and implemented a comprehensive outreach strategy to increase the community and stakeholders' understanding and knowledge of the District's four grant Programs: DC Tuition Assistance Grant, DC Leveraging Educational Assistance Partnership, the DC Adoption Scholarship, and the DC Adult Scholarship programs.
