Welcome new students and family members to the University and assist them in the initial orientation,registration, and check-in process. Conduct well-organized, thorough group meetings and discussions for new students and their family members. Serve as a peer assistant, helping college representatives and academic advisors, in order to help students understand and complete the registration process.

Assist students in navigating the communication enhanced curriculum and provide critical feedback to the professor on how students are experiencing writing and speaking assignments. Act as an engaged reader/listener, providing informed, constructive criticism directed toward the argumentation, analysis, organization, clarity, and style of papers and presentations with specific reference to the department’s communications curriculum scaffold. Focus on global issues of assignment criteria, organization, development, and thesis with respect to the disciplinary conventions rather than correcting surface errors.

Assisted with the implementation of the Kids Eat Free USDA-sponsored summer food service program at Carolinas Healthcare System University hospital, the first hospital in North Carolina to participate as an open-site. Cooperated with registered dietitian to complete and submit program supporting documents for the North Carolina Department of Instruction. Accounted for daily, weekly, and monthly averages of meals served to children. Created program survey to investigate areas of need, identify participating educational groups, and determine necessary program improvements. Constructed map with participant zip code data using ArcGIS software.
