Currently I am a student at BYU-Idaho studying Marriage and Family Studies. I plan to go on and receive a Masters so that I can be a Marriage and Family Therapist. I know that family is an important aspect to life and I hate to see families fall apart. I also hate to see teens struggling with self esteem, addictions, and eating disorders. My goal is to help them find purpose in life and be able to have confidence in themselves. I love working with people and being involved in problem solving. I have recently returned home from serving a full time mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I served in the Arizona Tempe Mission for 18 months and learned a lot from the people I served. I loved teaching and and being a positive influence in the world. I learned great people skills and have seen the importance of setting goals, making committments, and following up to continue to progress forward one step at a time.In my off track of 2009, I did a Dental Assisting program that was here in Rexburg called Assist to Succeed. I graduated top in my class and completed my hours to be certified and worked for Dr. James P. Hughes in Twin Falls. He allowed me to do my internship and then hired me to work there for the summer until I returned to BYU-I to finish my degree. I love being a Dental Assistant and helping people feel comfortable at a place that not many people do. I loved talking and getting to know the patients as well as the Dr. and his staff. At times when appointments fell through, I helped the front office organize files, confirm appointments as well as schedule them.When I am not working or studying, I love to spend time with my family and building relationships with those that matter most. I also love learning the skills that a mother should aquire. I also love to spend time relaxing as I play the piano. There is nothing like being able to express what I am feeling through song.
