I have always had a passion for healthcare and the compassionate and holistic care of others. From this passion I pursued my Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree at the University of Iowa, a top 10 nursing school in the nation and graduated with Highest Distinction.Following completion of my degree, I started as a New Graduate at St. Anthony Hospital Central Level 1 Trauma Center and Magnet status hospital within their Neuro-Trauma Intensive Care Unit in August of 2022 . Working on this unit I have provided specialized care to a variety of patients including individuals with complex neurologic injuries, poly-traumas, traumatic brain injuries, post interventional radiology, and multi-organ dysfunction. I have consistently performed tasks including ventilator management, extra-ventricular drain management, lumbar drains, and titration of sedation and vasopressor medications. I consistently collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to provide the highest quality patient care which is individualized to each patient. Not only have I grown as a nurse in my past year and a half, but I am also frequently searching for new ways to grow in my knowledge and become a more helpful member of our unit. Through this search for growth I have gotten my certification to care for individuals on continuous renal replacement therapy as well as stepped into the role of Education Liaison for the NTICU. I consistently coordinate educational opportunities with our unit, collaborate with house educators, put out weekly educational newsletters, and work on unit based projects with physicians to improve our unit and patient outcomes.
