- Proposed a student board member support program based on AB 824 (Bennett, 2021) in order to provide meaningful civic engagement opportunities for Alameda County students so that they can impact the decisions made for them while developing their leadership and civic engagement skills. Included supporting students petitioning the Board for a student board member- Researched the history and current policy priorities of the Whole-Child Approach in order to author a memo to the Policy and Governance Director that would inform future ACOE policy decisions and priorities that center the needs of all children-Track nearly 200 bills through Capitol Track and my own spreadsheet in order to identify bills that aligned with ACOE’s legislative platform and should be elevated to staff and Policy Committee consideration for a position- Analyze bill language and statute in order to communicate the impact of bills on key stakeholders and support conversation between ACOE staff- Communicate with legislative staff and other partners regarding ACOE concerns and questions in order to ensure that bills positively impact students and remove barriers to learning- Maintain a Board policy tracking spreadsheet of nearly 300 policies and regulations, and applied criteria in order to recommend Board policy updates

- Attend intensive summer training program to develop knowledge of the education program and skills required for effective teaching such as lesson planning- Tutor second graders online in reading and writing- Attend professional development and DEI seminars to further develop teaching skills and knowledge needed to advocate for education equity - Receive 1:1 coaching

- Consent subjects for research project on how menstrual cycle mediated changes in estrogen levels impact the effects of psychoactive drugs- Conduct subject appointments, includes administering psychoactive drugs and phlebotomy- Synthesize papers from the lab into short synopses that can be understood by a non-science audience. - Completed a project looking at the effect of over-expressing 3 different isoforms of LMYC in 5 different cell lines. The project was based on studies and observations leading to the hypothesis that over-expression of LMYC, specifically LMYC3 would cause neuroendocrine transdifferentiation in prostate cancer cells. - Shadowed Physicians, APPs (PA/NP), and Nurses in the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance (SCCA) treatment center- Shadowed in meetings such as ENT New Patient Meeting, Patient Care Conference, and AML Weekly Meeting- Attended seminars regarding different career paths in SCCA/Fred Hutch and the patient experience such as Integrative Medicine, Genetic Counselors, Chaplaincy, Nutrition, Tobacco Cessation, Neuro-oncology, a patient panel and more- Attended and participated in lab meetings
