I taught 16-20 classes per week comprised of four different Mandarin Chinese levels. One night a week I was on evening study hall in my dorm from 6:45-11pm. I was also part of organizing, running, and developing the swim program co-curricular at King's. The fall semester I was involved with the girls Learn to Swim co-curricular and I was the swim team's assistant coach winter '12 and spring '13. Beginning in August 2011 I had 5 girls of varying nationalities and backgrounds under my advisorship; in 2012-13 I had four of those original five and two new advisees. I assisted with activities sponsored by the History department to develop an appreciation for Chinese culture and organized and run several Chinese festival activity as well as being the tradition of having a Mid-autumn festival banquet.

I taught twelve classes per week of three different Mandarin Chinese levels. Two days a week I spent in the dorm supervising study hall from 6:45-11pm. After school I was involved in different co-curricular activities that change with each semester 3 to 4 afternoons a week. I was paired with another faculty member to advise and mentor for 7 advisees. Every 6th weekend I was on duty and had to be available all weekend for students as well as lead and/or supervise at least one several hour activity for boarders.

As a junior researcher at the Huyck Preserve, I assisted with several long term research projects being conducted at the Preserve. In addition, I also designed my own personal project dealing with native and invasive vine species in upstate New York and assisted my fellow interns with their own research projects. At the Huyck Preserve I learned how to manage and run general field station maintenance and guest services.

I spent 9 weeks at the Mountain Research Station located in Niwot Ridge in Nederland, CO, designing and carrying out a personal research project. My final project examined the foraging behavior of Formica podzolica and was presented to our directors and fellow researchers at the end of the internship.
