Continuing to work on mobile application team maintaining and improving iOS and Android apps, including improving the ADA experience for both applications. Implemented a complete redesign of an iPad app that is used by volunteers at events all around the country to acquire sponsors for the ministry. The new design focused on great user experience and also included many new features. Used Gitlab to implement CICD processes for Android, iOS, and Go projects to improve testing and deployment processes.

Worked on mobile application development team maintaining and improving several iOS and Android applications that are used across the USA by thousands of sponsors and volunteers to further the mission of Compassion International. Work is done mostly in Xcode and Android Studio using Swift and Kotlin languages. Practiced paired programming, mobbing, and working individually to feel comfortable working in many different environments.

During my internship, I worked on the mobile application development agile team. Most of my time was spent in Android Studio refactoring old Kotlin code for the back-end service, writing unit and UI tests, and brainstorming and implementing the front-end for a new Android app. Learned and became proficient in tools including GitLab, Git, and took a training course on SAFe Framework.

As a barista, I prepare drinks and food for customers. I maintain the cleanliness of the coffee shop and manage money. Working here has taught me how to work independently and be responsible for the coffee shop, as most of the time I am the only employee working.

Snow Mountain Ranch

I worked and lived full time at the YMCA of the Rockies Snow Mountain Ranch. Every day, I worked on a team in housekeeping to clean lodges, cabins, laundry, and more. I had specific expectations that needed to be met and approved my supervisors every day. Not only was I working full time in housekeeping during this summer, but I also was participating in The Navigator’s (a Christian campus ministry) Summer Training Program. The program consisted of intense discipleship and Bible study, evangelism, and multiple group events through the week. All of this was done with a team of 3 other women, including a team leader. This summer definitely grew me spiritually, personally, and emotionally.
