Kafi has been instructed and mentored by some of the most important Sambistas in Los Angeles including Valeria Ruggieri, Ana Laidley, and Jonia McClenney. In 2011 Kafi was invited to take part in the Dance School at Jacob’s Pillow and was mentored by the prestigious Mimulus Cia de Dança. Most recently, Kafi is being developed by the world's first non-Brasilian Samba Queen, Devla Imperatrix.Kafi’s passion for Brasil and children combined when she became Miss Brazilian Summer Beauty 2010. Kafi continues to advocate for Brasil and is a board member of the Brazilian Summer Beauty Charity Pageant and their main recruiter. Kafi was also crowned Santa Barbara's Queen of Carnaval 2012, and was featured in the Santa Barbara's Summer Solstice Parade, alongside the legendary Mariano Silva. Currently, Kafi has turned her passion for dance toward instruction. Teaching Basilian Samba at UCLA & LA Samba Kids, she continues to empower youth through dance. Kafi also takes the techniques she learns in her super-charged Interval Fitness class which combines her own favorite cardio dance styles with resistance, stretch and dynamic-core training.

Create programs to facilitate skill that would add disenfranchised youth in preventing the transmission of HIV and STD and premature pregnancy. Counseling these youth on day to day appliccation of what they learned in our workshops. Representing youth and giving a voice to youth around these issues.
