Started working part time while pursuing my Master's at the University of Auckland and continued to work as a permanent . Responsible for the following. - 3D Modelling of Mechanical Components- Designing Spars and Rigs- Composite Engineering- Load Calculations- Carrying out FEA (Finite Element Analysis) Using the following Software- Solidworks- Autocad- Microsoft Excell

Spending the summer vacation working with and learning about the renewable energy systems(wind generators and solar power), DC charging systems, Electrical propulsion, Lithium Batteries(Setting up their Battery Management Systems), Water makers(RO systems) for yachts and other hydro crafts. Project Management being an area of expertise of the company, it is working on restoring a 1966's classic Ship called MV Kaheno- a project which I am a part off. Living on board a yacht with the owner of the company and his family, I am also learning the way of life at sea (Includes sailing, cruising, racing and basically anything and everything that has to do with yachts) apart from all the techinical knowledge.

Worked in the Ship-repair department. Was in charge of Ship Movements (Dock Block Arrangements, Docking and Undocking of Ships and Ship Lifting), Hull blasting/painting and paint inspections, Service and testing of Life boats, Load Testing of Cranes, Davits, and Testing of LSA(Life Saving equipment). I led my team for over 10 projects. The job involved a lot of manpower handling and interactions with a lot of clients from big shipping lines like Vela Star and American Eagle tankers as well as representatives from the respective classification societies.

Conceptia is a very well renowned ship design firm where I choose to peruse my Summer vacation project- Yacht designing and Calculation using the software Free ship, AutoCAD and Excel. The project included the concept design of the yacht, Deduction of the table of offsets, creating lines plan, performing hydro-static calculations and designing The General arrangement/interiors.

This shipyard is a leading Indian private sector shipyard, which is engaged in design and construction of Sea-going,harbor, Inland crafts and vessels. Was introduced and made to work in all the departments involved in Ship Production for a week in each trade. Here I was taught the theoretical and practical aspects of Ship production, welding, NDT, QA/QC, Piping, Outfitting, Hull construction, Production Planning, Hull painting and Launching of ships

I enrolled myself in a month long internship at this design office that provides ship design services world over for the government/non government clients. VSDI specializes in design and engineering of Offshore Vessels, Seismic Vessels, Research Vessels, Coastguard, Naval Vessels, Tankers, Fishing Vessels, RO-ROs, Ferries, Passenger Ships and Conversions. Learnt concept, basic, classification and detailed designing of Offshore Supply Vessels in this firm.
