I'm an entrepreneur, economist and forest scientist who has dedicated his career to accelerating the restoration of the world's forests. I'm the founder CEO of Taking Root, an organization that works with farmers in Nicaragua and around the world to create financial incentives, training and market access to grow trees, funded through the sale of carbon removals.For my work, I was profiled on the CBC as one of Canada’s next generation of changemakers and received the Meritorious Service Cross (M.S.C.), one of Canada's highest civilian honours. I have a PhD in Forest Economics and a Master’s degree in Forestry statistics from UBC, a BA in Economics from Concordia University and professional certificates in business development and permaculture.
