Kai Kok embarked on his professional journey by obtaining a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering from the NUS Electrical Engineering department. He initially ventured into the realm of firmware development for Personal Digital Assistant (PDA) Phones, which served as precursors to modern smartphones, seamlessly integrating phone functionalities with those of PDAs.Driven by his passion for technology, Kai Kok pursued his second job, where he focused on coding motion control firmware for high-speed industrial robots employed in the manufacturing of computer chips. These robots fell under the category of Semiconductor Assembly Equipment. During this period, he also pursued a Master's degree in Software Engineering at the Institute of System Science (ISS), honing his expertise in software development, organizational methodologies, and software processes.With his acquired knowledge and qualifications, Kai Kok transitioned to another organization, dedicating his skills to firmware coding for Programmable Automation Controller (PAC) products. PACs are versatile computing devices widely used for automating various factories and machines, analogous to industrial-grade Arduino boards.After accumulating a decade of experience in firmware development for physical products, Kai Kok made a significant career shift towards the realm of software development, particularly focusing on delivering web-based digital services to the general public. He joined a new organization committed to fostering agile software development practices and placing user-centricity at the core of their product delivery process.In his current role, Kai Kok not only writes code but also takes on leadership responsibilities, guiding teams in the development of software solutions for their products.Beyond his professional pursuits, Kai Kok is an ardent coder who considers himself fortunate to have the opportunity to dabble with computers and start coding during the 1980s. During his free time, he engages in mini-projects and explores diverse technologies, further fueling his passion.
