I am a Home Care Support Worker in Brighton, working with children and young people aged 8-18. I previously worked in adult services, where I achieved my Level 3 in Lead Adult Support work. Now I am working towards my NCFE CACHE Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare in my current role. Alongside this I am also now the Unison representative for Health and Safety within my workplace. I thoroughly enjoy my work and feel I made the right choice for my life, being in the care industry.I did not complete university for personal reasons, but for 2 years I studied Theatre Arts, Education and Deaf Studies. Through this I have learnt a lot about Deaf culture, and different forms of discrimination. I have a strong knowledge of the Equality Act 2010 and all predecessors of this act such as the Disability Discrimination Act of 1995. I am good with working with a wide variety of colleagues and customers, and in such a diverse area as Brighton and Hove I feel that this shines through and makes me a much better employee.I am easy to contact and always open to new opportunities. I will try my hand at anything.
