I am a member of the Princeton Class of '23 from Long Island, New York. With certificates in both Gender and Sexuality Studies and Computer Science, my East Asian Studies research focus is on alternative vernacular stances in contemporary Japanese "yuri" (百合), a queer-theoretically rich genre that handles predominantly female same-sex intimacy. I am keen to rely on an interdisciplinary background to apply both post-colonial approaches and data analysis to my research.Outside of the classroom, I was most involved in the Princeton’s only Anime-Manga club. As an officer early into my first undergraduate year and President by my last, I have overseen the expansion of this club, from 5 to 300+ members. I enjoyed tinkering in graphic design to create flyers and poster boards for club advertising, and probing game theory in curating ice-breaker games with a deeper understanding of peer engagement.
