Section tutor and reader for MAE 3 “Intro. to Mechanical Design”Leading a lab section of 16 students and holding office hours. Teaching students CAD, machine shop fabrication, technical communication, team management, and engineering analysis. Responsible for grading student work and providing constructive feedback to guide students through clock-building and robot competition projects.

Conducting a research project focused on reducing the energy use of campus building HVAC systems through optimizing Variable Air Volume (VAV) unit control with occupancy sensors. Requires work with energy data analysis, HVAC facilities controls, and Title 24 building energy code.

Worked on the Fluidic Operations in Reduced Gravity Experiment (FORGE), a project lead by Dr. Aaron Noell. This project is a test for a phase separator of liquid and gas bubbles to improve water analysis systems in space. It is a payload that allows us to observe the fluid and bubble movement in real reduced gravity conditions when on a Blue Origin New Shepard flight. My work focused on preparing our 25lb payload for its second flight. This required me to make modifications to the payload, reassemble and test it. I designed and modified parts including a microfluidic valve mount and ballast system using Siemens NX and Teamcenter, releasing them for production. I also updated the ConOps code and debugged the microfluidic system as I tested the experiment over 30 times to ensure reliability and dial in the timing. Overall, I upheld the highest standards as I diligently tested, and put everything together ensuring all the wiring, fluidic connections, electronics, and mechanical components worked reliably.
