Employed on a full time basis from June - September 2017, now work 5 hours a week to assist with data analysis, literature searches and proof reading at the Centre for Occupational and Health Psychology.

Employed for 5 hours a week by Professor Andy Smith at the Centre for Occupational and Health Psychology. My role involves various duties such as transcribing data, performing literature searches and proof reading.

Ty Catrin

Worked full-time shadowing a clinical psychologist and worked alongside a multi-disciplinary team in a Personality Disorder Specialist Unit, Ty Catrin. The role involved observing clinical therapy sessions with patients, attending ward therapeutic groups on ‘Staying Safe’, attending meetings regarding individual patient’s care plans as well as weekly Individual Care Reviews.Therapy sessions ranged from trauma therapy regarding sexual abuse, CBT for eating disorders and psychotherapy for auditory hallucinations and attachment issues. Observed and explored various assessment tools such as: Millon Clinical Multiaxial Inventory Assessment, Test of Premorbid Functioning (TOPF) and SCID-CV, WAIS-IV, WMS-IV and the WASI-II. Also involved in formulating the risk assessment WARRN and gathering relevant historical information for the HCR-20.

Worked for 8 weeks assisting a PhD student’s research primarily focusing on stress in student nurses, this included large volume data entry, data analysis, qualitative and quantitative methods, as well as various independent organisation tasks. I also spent time analysing results and writing up these results in appropriate tables.The job required me to work independently and efficiently, as well as getting involved in putting forward ideas for logistical issues. I was also given plenty of opportunity to learn how to conduct new data analysis procedures on SPSS, such as how to deal with missing values.
