Child Hunger Corps Member as a part of a national fellowship dedicated to helping Feeding America's member Food Bank's improve their capacity to serve children and families.Conducted and summarized a community needs assessment by assessing pre-existing data and utilizing surveys, focus groups, and intercept interviewing to gather community based qualitative data across a 13 county service area. Summarized assessment to present to host Food Bank and national Feeding America office. The assessment served as the catalyst for new program implementation.Spearheaded the implementation of two new summer meal programs. These programs were designed to provide nutritous foods to children and families in under-resourced areas. This involved fostering relationships with community partners, creating a standard operating procedure, recruiting and managing volunteers, helping to secure grant funding for the projects, and evaluating the programs for future enhancement.Revised and expanded Northern Illinois Food Bank's school pantry program. This consisted of improving internal processes for onboarding and sustaining school pantry programs and assisting new programs in start-up and expansion efforts.Work on general outreach and on-boarding for new program sites and consult sites on best practices.
