The PhD Assistant Lecturer (PAL) scheme offered by the School of Information Technology provides candidates with a career pathway to gain formal teaching experience and develop a research track record while completing a PhD study at Monash University Malaysia in one of the strategic research areas.

- Establish data requirements, data repository architecture, data preparation, software and tools acceptable within the Bank’s digital environment- Enhance portfolio segmentation and effective reporting visualization for purpose of monitoring the booking performance- Perform data analytics to identify trends / risk characteristics / insights of a particular customer segment, portfolio or specific program- Develop credit strategies / policies / test programs / tactical programs / cross-sell strategies based on the data insights to mitigate credit risk and capitalize on opportunities for Business- Participate and collaborate with relevant stakeholders in credit risk projects including A-Score development / calibration, straight-through credit decision, process improvement / automation- Ensure credit policies and SOP are understood and manage stakeholders (including Credit Evaluation, Collection, Business, Group Risk & Management, Group Compliance), strategically in line with risk management and business goals- Provide coaching and guidance to other colleagues in the department

- Lead the development of Business 360 solution (single view of Group’s B2B customers)- Design the architecture of analytics data repository in BigQuery data warehouse on Google Cloud Platform- Visualize data with reports and dashboards using Google Data Studio and Tableau- Analyze data from multiple sources and identify insights for various business units

- Gather and process raw data at scale from East Asia, Southeast Asia and Australasia regions- Develop and maintain ETL pipeline of data sources into cloud-based data warehouse on Amazon Web Services- Work with data management and reward services teams to drive innovation in managing regional data for business decisions- Transform unstructured data into suitable format for analysis and reporting purposes- Build and deliver interactive reports using SSRS as self-service business intelligence solution to teams- Leverage systems and robotic process automation using UiPath to cut down manual work and increase operation performance- Perform data reconciliation between systems to maintain interfaces and data accuracy- Develop and implement data quality strategies and solutions ensuring they are integrated with architecture used across the company- Provide functional and technical supports to users by troubleshooting data issues

- Understand business processes and locate new data-driven improvement opportunities- Analyze and interpret trends or patterns in complex datasets using SQL with analytics functions- Visualize data to identify problems and guidance for diagnostic analytics using Excel and Qlik Sense- Extract raw data into meaningful information using PL/SQL and data manipulation techniques- Perform predictive analytics with classification modeling and statistical techniques using Python and R- Perform research and development on machine learning algorithms and data preparation approach- Periodic reporting to management for strategic direction on business needs and artificial intelligence initiatives- Implement and deploy performance-based analytics projects within existing systems to bring business impacts- Provide guidance and mentor junior team members through the execution of their duties
