In my role, I oversee both facility and program development with a hands-on leadership approach, managing a team of over 40 members, including 3 heads of departments, of which my responsibilities include recruitment, professional development, training, and fostering a positive organisational culture.I report directly to the General Manager of Aquatics and collaborate closely with key stakeholders to ensure continued revenue growth and expense management during the $14 million redevelopment of Kawana Aquatic Centre.

As the Assistant Facility Manager, I primarily oversaw the operations team, which comprised 25 staff members and four Duty Managers. I reported directly to and learned from the Facility Manager. I assumed full responsibility for all chemical, retail, café, and cleaning orders. Under my leadership, the operations team became significantly more efficient through the implementation of templated shifts, maintenance checklists & logs, new key asset maintence procedures and consistent lifeguard training.At the beginning of the Facility Manager’s tenure, I ensured a smooth transition by managing staff and training processes. I assisted in, and eventually took full responsibility for, the site-wide roster and served as the first point of contact for any crises.

In the absence of an on-site Facility Manager, I assumed the role of Acting Facility Manager. My objective was to maintain operational efficiency while reporting directly to the Business Performance Manager.During this period, I honed my skills in labor control and stakeholder relationship management. I oversaw a roster comprising three department heads and over 40 staff members.

Being promoted to Senior Duty Manager meant I was to assume responsibility of site operations week on week creating preventive actions in the safety area and asset maintence area.I directly reported to the Facility Manager and was direct report of 4 Duty Managers, overseeing performance and training for my team.

After seeing my keen eye for detail around safety and operations and despite only working 1-2 days a week I was chosen to become a Duty Manger.In this role I assumed full responsibility of the site, staff and patrons when the Facility Manager was not onsite. Whilst focusing on my full time job at Beez Neez I couldn’t help but to continue my career in the aquatics industry.I started working at Kawana aquatic centre, a stark difference from the two pools I worked at in regional NSW as this was a far larger and much busier centre. I worked this job 1-2 days a week whilst working full time developing my business skills at Beez Neez.Duties included;- pool chemical balancing - working large events- money handling- customer engagement
