In Spring 2021, I graduated from SUNY Brockport with a Bachelors degree in Public Health Education with a minor in Alcohol and Substance Abuse Studies. I have since started work at a nonprofit as a Prevention Specialist. My primary duties involve coordinating and presenting evidence based prevention programs to grades K-12. Programs cover topics such as drug prevention, violence prevention and social perspectives. I also serve as LEAFs point person for servicing Problem Gambling prevention programs. I am continuing to increase my knowledge in both prevention and public health by working towards obtaining my CPP (Certified Prevention Professional) credential. Other responsibilities include networking and working collaboratively with other agencies and coalition’s.
