Within the higher education sector, I worked as a Student Digital Champion (SDC) at the University of Plymouth. As an SDC, I pioneered the University’s digital support service to current students, faculty and staff offering opportunities to build digital rapport across departments and grow student capabilities with ever-changing platforms. I developed expertise in troubleshooting digital queries, tracked student engagement through online Microsoft Forms, and improved the University’s service offerings tenfold by expanding the program’s reach to thousands of students. I directly supported underserved student groups in higher education. I addressed digital literacy gaps and empowered international students, mature students, and English Language Learners to overcome technological and cultural barriers to their education. Through collaboration with university services and departmental faculty, I expanded the Digital Education Team’s reach to thousands of students, creating more inclusive learning environments and supporting the development of equitable tools for all degree programs.

As a volunteer for the Blue Meadows team, I worked with the UK's ReMEDIES collaborative, nationwide effort to restore native seagrass habitats and enhance coastal carbon sequestration potential in the UK. This role combined lab and field work, focusing on seagrass growth, monitoring, propagation, and preparation for transplanting. As the sole graduate student volunteer, I performed technically demanding sampling and monitoring work with excellent attention to detail, while also supervising and training interns and visiting volunteers.

As my graduate thesis research, I developed innovative methods to engage with fisheries stakeholders to help improve community capacity and resilience as FMPs evolve. Working at the crux of historical conflict and a live policy issue in the Lyme Bay MPA, I evaluated historical data, quota management, and national fisheries policies with respect to stakeholder engagement practices. Through expert collaboration with the MMO, Blue Marine Foundation, local fisher's associations, and the University of Plymouth, I executed stakeholder meetings and workshops and facilitated open dialogue between stakeholders and marine managers, successfully acquiring the highest recorded level of participation. The methods and results of my work developed into recommendations for fisheries management and stakeholder engagement practices moving forward.

These studies have explored the freshwater ecosystems of the southeastern United States with herpetological and icthyological study organisms. Both projects developed into manuscripts that are soon to be up for review. These studies involved behavioral and physiological aspects of organisms under the influences of predation and temperature, respectively.
