- Cleaned and analyzed data in R from Guatemala’s collaborative integrated surveillance system (VICo-IP) consisting of over 1,200 variables collected by study staff from the Universidad del Valle de Guatemala (UVG) for acute respiratory, febrile, and diarrheal syndromes- Communicated VICo-IP statistical analysis results to the Central America Regional office of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CAR-CDC) through weekly meetings - Drafted two manuscripts with support from UVG and CAR-CDC discussing analysis results, their interpretation, and overall importance in promoting public health

- Increased student enthusiasm for biological concepts by instructing 45 undergraduate students in 3 laboratory sections of “Introduction to Marine Science” and fostering a collaborative learning environment in the lab through weekly class discussions and student-instructor interactions- Enhanced student engagement in the course by advising undergraduates in 2 office hours each week and following up on student concerns by email

- Optimized cell imaging of microglia morphology by adjusting software module parameters for increased accuracy in cell outline detection after neuroinflammatory stimulation and therapeutic mesenchymal stromal cell treatment- Explored Amazon Web Services (AWS) as an alternative cloud-based computing option for large file hosting and high-throughput cell image analysis- Performed data analysis and visualization using JMP and created cluster computing scripts decreasing time taken for experimental analysis from 2 hours to less than 10 minutes in addition to crafting workflow documentation for future lab members
