My name is Peter Kailis. I am currently employed as the Director of Operations by Chicago Sweet Connection Bakery. The bakery is run by my father, Tom Kailis, who is President and CEO. Therefore, I am deeply involved in a variety of roles when it comes to running the factory. This has allowed me to gain a wealth of experience in the Manufacturing and Food Service Industry. My experience and involvement at the bakery includes working with customers and vendors, employees and executives, insurers, IT professionals, and databases.I graduated from Michigan State University in 2015 with a Bachelor in Political Science – Pre Law. At my time at Michigan State, I focused my studies based around the fields of law, economics, and philosophy. Despite graduating early, I was able to be involved in the school community through leadership in my ethnic group as President of the Hellenic Student Association as well as through an important role as a Director on the Funding Board of the student government ASMSU. I am looking to further my education in the near future here in Chicago. My work at Chicago Sweet Connection is very rewarding. Other than gaining a special opportunity to work closely with my Father -who is my role model- and in a place of business in which I remember growing up in, the bakery has offered me ample opportunity to work and learn from many different fields and different jobs. I have worked directly with Sales, Accounts Payable and Receivables, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Product Development, Information Technologies, Food Safety, and Management. I believe that a personal network is a very important asset for a young executive, and therefore I am very interested in connecting with colleagues, friends, and others involved both in my industry and in others.
