For thirty years, I continued my professional career in the pharmaceutical industry.I held the position of Senior Medical Science Liaison for Neuroscience in the Medical Affairs Department at Genentech, Inc. In this position I served as an field-based extension of Genentech Medical Affairs, providing integral support for new and on-going research studies and clinical education for healthcare professionals and internal personnel. In accordance with Genentech’s evolving strategic objectives, I regularly interfaced with medical thought leaders and academic researchers in multiple sclerosis and neurological disease.

Held the position of Senior Immunology Medical Science Liaison in the Medical Affairs Department at Genentech, Inc.. In this position I served as an field-based extension of Genentech Medical Affairs, providing integral support for new and on-going research studies and clinical education for healthcare professionals and internal personnel. In accordance with Genentech’s evolving strategic objectives, I regularly interfaced with medical thought leaders and academic researchers to identify and facilitate signal-seeking Investigator Sponsored Clinical Trials from concept through trial completion and the publication of study results where unmet medical needs exist in rheumatic and pt autoimmune diseases.

Served as a Cardiovascular Medical Science Liaison providing clinical education and support to Emergency and Critical Care physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and allied health professionals regarding thrombolytic therapy and patient management in the setting of acute myocardial infarction, acute ischemic stroke and acute pulmonary embolism. Also supported educational programs and logistics for the National Registry of Myocardial Infarction.

I served for nine years as a Cardiovascular Regional Clinical Coordinator at Genentech where I was responsible for the management of corporate-sponsored clinical education for the southern United States. As a member of the regional management team, I provided training and field support for the regional cardiovascular sales force and served as a lecturer to healthcare professionals on topics pertaining to the emergent management and critical care of acute myocardial infarction, acute ischemic stroke, massive pulmonary embolism and other vascular disease patients. I directed the activities of a team of 52 nurse educators in developing and providing business critical clinical educational programs. I was also integrally involved in education, monitoring, and data analysis for the Phase IV National Registry of Myocardial Infarction (NRMI).

Provided clinical information on cardiovascular product line for Genentech, Inc. to physicians, pharmacists and other healthcare professionals.

As a professional Registered Nurse, I practiced as a staff nurse in the Intensive Thoracic Care Unit, as a Nurse Specialist and Charge Nurse in the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit, as a staff nurse and Charge Nurse in the Emergency Department, and as Department Head of the Intensive Thoracic Care and Transplant Unit. I was responsible for the leadership and direction of unit managers and teams of professional nurses and allied healthcare personnel, as well as management of multimillion dollar departmental budgets.
