Hi my name is Kai and I am aspiring to become a pathologist. Currently, I am a full-time Griffith University student studying Bachelor of Medical Science / Doctor of Medicine. I also work as a lab assistant for QML pathology in which I gained a greater understanding of the hospital layout along with direct experience managing and processing specimen samples. I have always been passionate about sport and fitness; I competed at a state - level for tennis during high school and I enjoy surfing and weightlifting during my free time. Because of my active lifestyle, I have always been fascinated by the human body and health.On top of competitive sport, I had to maintain high academic scores to get into medicine and balance many other extra-curricular leadership roles at school. This rigorous lifestyle has helped me to develop problem solving and time management skills, discipline and a strong work ethic. My leadership roles at school included: Head Prefect, captain of my house and captain of the tennis team. In these roles, I implemented various initiatives to help the students in my school, such as organising movie nights, organising specialised training programs for the tennis team, and helping to run charity events to give back to the community. Through these positions, I gained stronger public speaking and leadership skills.Through medicine, I hope to contribute to society by helping other people with their health and wellbeing.
