As the Exhibits Intern, I help with exhibit design, science communication and education, promoting accessibility within our exhibits, and overall database management. In this role, I have had the privilege to create a new set of animal ID cards for our exhibits displays that include english, spanish translation, and the scientific name for over 100 species. Additionally, I am working on content design for upcoming exhibits that showcase climate impacts on marine ecosystems.

Joining Worldly - a tech company focused around corporate sustainability in analytics, reporting, and performance tracking of manufacture goods - as the sustainability analyst intern, I am responsible for mapping the European Sustainability Reporting Standards to the Higg FEM. The purpose of this is to improve the analytical reporting of the Higg FEM to match higher sustainability standards implemented in Europe and promote sustainability throughout the life cycle of consumer goods.

In this role, I promote sustainability within the museum space by constructing programs to foster discussions around the environment as it relates to contemporary art and various backgrounds. In addition, I assist in the continual process to make MOCA more green through analyses of environmental audits of our buildings and eco-conscious decisions between staff and visitors.

As a student researcher in this lab, my role involves producing maps to further analyze the health inequities throughout Southeast Los Angeles in regards to air pollution. Our work is partnered with Communities for a Better Environment (CBE), an environmental justice organization in LA to promote resident awareness and understanding of environmental issues within their community. Events are hosted every few months to help teach residents how to understand and create similar maps to visualize such inequities and push for policy changes.
