As a seasoned geologist and sedimentologist with over 15 years of experience, I bring a rich background in geosciences, sedimentology, and project management. My career has spanned leading research initiatives, curating educational exhibits, and managing communications in the geological sciences.I am currently the Head of Communications at the Geological Survey of Estonia EGT-TWINN project, enhancing public and scientific engagement. Concurrently, I serve as a Chief Geology Specialist and the Program Manager at the University of Tartu, leading various research projects and managing the curricula and education at the Department of Geology. Previously, I was a Mining Geologist at New Boliden AB and a Curator at the University of Tartu Natural History Museum and prior that also a Head of Departnent/Curator at the Estonian Natural History Museum, where I developed impactful geological exhibitions.Throughout my career, I have curated notable exhibitions like "GEO200: Two Centuries of Geology Education in Estonia" and "Secrets of the Ancient Sea," and many more which have significantly contributed to public education in geology.I hold a PhD in Geology from the University of Tartu, with a specialization in soft-sediment deformation and gravity flow structures. I also have MSc and BSc degrees in Geology from the same university and a BA in International Business from Concordia International University Estonia.Fluent in Estonian, English, and able to communiate in Finnish, and Russian, I excel in international collaboration. I have participated in international courses and workshops, expanding my expertise in geologic events and impact cratering.With a blend of academic achievements and professional expertise, I am dedicated to advancing geological research and education, fostering a deeper understanding of Earth's dynamic systems.
