Worked closely with Product and Design to conceive of a virtual classroom product for school districts. Architected core components that allow synchronization of academic records for 1M+ students and teachers. Enabled teachers to seamlessly move to online classrooms, and students to get individualized practice based on their test scores and performance.The first version of this product was launched under a tight timeframe of ~9 months, from ideation to the first partner district of 300k students using the product.

We were a tight-knit team of experimentally-minded engineers, PMs, designers, and data scientists whose goal was to onboard and engage the parents and teachers of students who were already using Khan Academy.Highlights:- Overhauled teacher onboarding to showcase the core loop of browsing, assigning, and measuring student performance on practice problems through an interactive demo when teachers first sign up.- Optimize how under-13 users get parental approval to use the site, and retain approving parents through automatic subscription to their child's progress reports.We also improved the tech and playbook for how growth experiments are run at Khan Academy.

Also collaborated with a designer on various features to make in-app assessments and teacher feedback feel lightweight and joyful.
